78-year-old West Milford man charged in alleged sexual assault of 5-year-old
Prosecutors say Arnold Allan Capalbo faces four charges following an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit.

A 78-year-old West Milford man has been charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 5-year-old child, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
West Milford police received a report Sept. 22 of an alleged sexual assault of a child at Arnold Allan Capalbo's residence earlier that day, prosecutors said. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit led the investigation.
Prosecutors allege Capalbo lured the child into his apartment and engaged in sexual conduct with the victim. He was charged with sexual assault, luring a child, lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child.
Capalbo was arrested Sept. 25 near Lincoln Avenue and Marshall Hill Road in West Milford, authorities said.
Prosecutors have filed a motion to keep Capalbo detained before trial. A detention hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in Superior Court.
