A 76-year-old man from Hackensack was charged in the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 13.

Bergen County prosecutors say Phillip Porter was arrested Monday in Paramus after they received a report Saturday of a sexual assault that occurred in the past in Hackensack.

Authorities say an investigation by prosecutors and Hackensack Police Department revealed Porter sexually assaulted the minor in Hackensack. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

Porter will be held at Bergen County Jail pending an initial court hearing in Hackensack.
