4h agoA 73-year-old woman from Middletown is under arrest and has been charged in the fatal shooting of her husband that took place at their home.
The prosecutor says Michele Linzalone told authorities she shot her husband accidentally.
As a result of the investigation, police have determined that the shooting was not the result of an accidental discharge.
Michele Linzalone was charged with first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
She was taken to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold.
If she is convicted of murder, Linzalone faces a maximum term of life imprisonment.
