A man was gunned down in Plainfield in an apparent robbery late Thursday night, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office.
Officials say that 60-year-old Frank Drayton was sitting on his rear porch on the 700 block of West Fourth Street when he was approached by a suspect. That suspect brandished a pistol, demanded money and then shot Drayton after an exchange of words.
The suspect fled the scene on foot.
Officials did not provide a description of the suspect.
The Union County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
