Three people, including a 6-year-old child, were injured in a shooting Sunday night in Passaic, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police responded to the area of 79 Sherman St., near Columbia Avenue, at about 8:55 p.m. May 17 for a report of a shooting involving multiple victims.

Prosecutors say a 27-year-old woman from Wallington, a 6-year-old child and a 20-year-old woman from Passaic were struck by gunfire. All three victims suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and were taken to a hospital.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
