Police are investigating three separate shootings that took place within hours of each other Sunday in Trenton, including one that injured a child and another that left a man critical.
Authorities say the first incident occurred shortly before 2 a.m. when a 22-year-old was shot in the leg at the corner of Brunswick Avenue and Chase Street. The gunman reportedly fired multiple rounds before making a getaway.
An 8-year-old girl was hit in the second shooting. The child was sitting in her mother's car driving down North Willow Street when a woman opened fire.
The girl was shot in the shin and is expected to make a speedy recovery.
The third gunshot victim was attacked on East State Street. Police say a 27-year-old man was shot in the back. The victim was taken to Fold Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
