A group of musicians who are longing to play live for the public after months of quarantine has started to hold pop-up performances in Jersey City.
After months of not performing for a live audience because the symphonies, Broadway theaters and recital halls where they work have had to cancel shows, three Jersey City residents decided to form Trio W. The name comes from the first letter of each of their last names.
Trio W consists of violinist Meghan Todt Williams, violist Izia Weyman and cellist Jessica Wang.
They formed the group in early August and began to practice in parks around Jersey City.
Wednesday evening Trio W will play its first official show outside Barrow Mansion, not far from a park where they have been rehearsing. Many people in the city have been stopping by to listen to the music.
The first official performance will begin at 6 p.m.
