A powerful art exhibit is making its way around Bergen County this month, giving survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault a platform to share their stories through art.
Called “The Art of Survival,” the exhibit features deeply personal and therapeutic works, including paintings, drawings and decorated shoes created by survivors.
The Center for Hope and Safety has organized the traveling exhibit for 13 years, using art to raise awareness and highlight the strength and resilience of those impacted by abuse.
This month, the exhibit is making stops at several Bergen County libraries, including Westwood, Ramsey, Montvale, Franklin Lakes, Glen Rock and Hackensack.
The tour comes as the Center for Hope and Safety, based in Demarest, marks 50 years of providing support and services to survivors.
