A Hackensack man is accused of repeatedly ramming an SUV into another vehicle during a dispute at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus on Tuesday night, police said.

Daniel J. Leandry, 29, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief and simple assault.

Paramus police responded around 9 p.m. to the mall’s south parking lot, near the former Best Buy store, following a report of a dispute involving two vehicles.

Police said Leandry had a verbal dispute with occupants of a white Mercedes-Benz before allegedly ramming a gray Ford Escape into their vehicle multiple times.

Leandry then fled the scene, according to police.

With assistance from mall security, officers located the damaged Ford Escape in the parking lot of a Chili’s restaurant on Route 17 south. The vehicle was unoccupied.

An officer later found Leandry walking on Fairfield Drive, where he was arrested, police said.

Paramus EMS responded to evaluate one of the Mercedes-Benz occupants, who declined medical attention.

Leandry also received several motor vehicle summonses, including one for driving with a suspended license.
