A haunted car wash in Copiague is delivering scares and clean rides for motorists this Halloween season.

This unique and spooky experience also has a practical side. Drivers can get their cars washed while getting scared all at the same time.

The owner of Johnnie’s Car Wash turned its tunnel into a drive-thru Halloween experience.

He says he started the event during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to have fun while social distancing. But people loved it so much, he’s kept up the tradition.

“We've been here a few times, but this was really good this time. I mean, we weren't expecting them to come in the car,” said one visitor. “They were in my face. That was terrifying. That was really good.”

Volunteers have a lot of fun dressing up, getting partially in the car and popping up inside the car wash.

Drivers can visit Johnnie’s Car Wash for the haunted car wash experience this weekend and next weekend.
