Travelers looking for a getaway to the Sunshine State have a new option as Allegiant Air officially launches service from Trenton-Mercer Airport to Orlando Sanford International Airport in Florida.
The new connection marks the fourth route Allegiant has launched out of the Mercer County airport this year, following a major return that ended a seven-year absence when the carrier resumed operations in late 2025. In February, the airline rolled out its first three nonstop routes from TTN, serving Fort Lauderdale, Punta Gorda, and St. Pete-Clearwater.
County and airport officials have praised the ongoing partnership, highlighting strong passenger feedback and a shared commitment to providing affordable, convenient travel options for local residents and visitors.
“Having that easy airport experience makes you want to fly more because you know you’ll be able to get to the airport, park your car, get through security and it’s an easy experience as far as airports go,” said Kristen Schilling-Gonzales, vice president of Fleet Planning with Allegiant Air.
Allegiant will operate the new route twice a week with flights scheduled on Mondays and Fridays. Tickets and additional travel information are available directly through the airline's website.
Allegiant reps say they’re trying to fill those low-cost budget airline gaps left after Spirit folded earlier this year. Depending on ticket sales, more Allegiant routes and flights could be added between now and next summer.
