Take a Road Trip back to the 1980s at Deep 6 Arcade in Stratford

What started as a passion for rescuing and restoring vintage pinball machines and arcade games has grown into a one-of-a-kind destination where visitors can play them all.
Justin Greenfeld and Kyle Corcoran opened Deep 6 Arcade in Stratford in early September with a mission of restoring and preserving authentic 1980s and classic arcade cabinets.
Greenfeld says the games are authentic.
"We are operating on brass tokens just like they were when these games came out," Greenfield says.
And playing the games feels the same as when you were a kid.
"They have a lot of tactile feedback, right? The Coney Island rifle shooting game. It's a mechanical shooting gallery. The gun has a little bit of recoil when you shoot on it. The pinball machines bounce around and bump. It's different than sitting at home and playing on your cell phone or home console. You're getting the full experience when you play on one of these dedicated cabinets," Greenfield says.
Greenfeld says Deep 6 Arcade is a great place to share memories with your kids.
"We get a lot of people coming in with their kids, showing them the games for the first time, showing them how to actually play the games and how to use joysticks and buttons, " he says. "They have only ever known games on their cell phone and games on a home console, and they found the dedicated cabinets with the control panels specific for just that game to be an incredible experience."
Greenfeld and Corcoran rescue one game at a time.
"We invented this to keep these games out of dumps in the trash and things like that, where they were naturally ending up just because nobody could keep them going," says Greenfeld.
Deep 6 Arcade has a kitchen and a full bar.
Deep 6 Arcade is located in Station House Square, 2505 Main St. in Stratford.
