Numerous animals found dead inside Woodbridge home, police say
Police entered the Douglas Street home after receiving a welfare check request and detecting a foul odor.

Numerous animals were found dead inside a Woodbridge home after someone asked police to check on a resident, according to the Woodbridge Police Department.
Officers went to the home on Douglas Street and noticed a foul odor before going inside, police said. They found unsanitary conditions and numerous dead animals, including dogs in crates, hamsters and lizards.
The Woodbridge Fire Department and Middlesex County hazardous materials team were called to the home. The township's Office of Emergency Management was also notified.
Animal control removed the dead animals from the home.
Police said charges are pending.
