A fire erupted and left 12 people displaced early Saturday morning in Newark.

Firefighters and the Red Cross responded to the scene on South 19th Street after a report was made around 4:00 a.m.

Upon arrival, crews found the residential building fully engulfed. They say a third alarm was called in as the fire extended to two adjacent residences.

The flames were controlled by 5:16 a.m., according to authorities. No injuries were reported.

The three families impacted by the blaze have since been relocated. The Red Cross is offering them temporary lodging, food and clothing.

Red Cross Disaster Health, Disaster Mental Health, and Spiritual Care Services are also available to the families.
