Gov. Mikie Sherrill is doubling down on efforts to correct a voter registration error involving the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.
At an event in Trenton, Sherrill said her administration is working quickly to identify and remove people who should not have been registered before ballots are sent out.
The governor provided an update Wednesday, saying about 5,100 people who are not U.S. citizens have been removed from the state’s voter rolls. Another 1,400 people have had their voter registration status “rejected.”
