Several flavors of a frozen dessert item sold nationwide are being recalled because they may contain glass.

The move was prompted by reports of glass in Outshine Fruit Bars, according to the parent company, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc.

Products affected include strawberry, watermelon, grape, tangerine and black cherry 6-count 2.5 ounce packs and the 24-count 2.5 ounce variety pack.

Dreyer's issued the voluntary recall on Tuesday, saying they are “taking this action out of an abundance of caution.”

No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.

“The safety, quality, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause our consumers and retail customers,” the company said.

Consumers are advised to throw out the item or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
