FBI adds man accused in $650M investment fraud scheme to Most Wanted Fraudsters list

The FBI has added a man accused of helping defraud about 2,000 investors, including hundreds in New Jersey, of more than $650 million to its Most Wanted Fraudsters list.
Rey E. Grabato II is the second person added to the FBI’s new list, which publicly identifies people charged with defrauding Americans. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
A federal arrest warrant was issued for Grabato in Newark in October 2022. He faces charges including conspiracy to commit securities fraud, securities fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States with respect to taxes.
Federal authorities say Grabato, who served as president and majority owner of National Realty Investment Advisors LLC, and others misrepresented the value of the company’s investment fund as part of a scheme that defrauded investors between February 2018 and January 2022.
Grabato is also accused of participating in a separate scheme to obstruct the IRS’s efforts to collect about $26 million in outstanding tax liabilities between November 2007 and August 2022.
The FBI says Grabato has ties to the Philippines and may be living there. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs about 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
