A North Jersey town says garbage dumpster pickups are happening too early in the morning and are too loud.

Now Fair Lawn is moving forward with a new ordinance after the mayor said the pickups are not violating any current rules.

The issue was raised a week ago during a session with the mayor and council, and it is expected to be addressed at the next meeting in the coming days.

“We are going to move forward with creating an ordinance that prohibits dumpster collection before 7 a.m. and hopefully this will help our residents that are being awoken sometimes at 3, 4, 5 o’clock in the morning by a loud garbage dumpster pickup,” Mayor Cristina Cutrone said.
