STORM WATCH: Sweaty with a risk for rain for Knicks parade today

Pop up showers and storms are expected today and a few storms could be strong early this afternoon.

Today is the Knicks ticker-tape parade. Showers and storms will be scattered but possible through the early afternoon and it will be hot, humid, and windy with breaks of sunshine.

Today: Sweaty and Stormy

Temperatures today will soar to near 90 degrees with a stray morning shower and a pop up strong storm midday. The greatest threat for strong storms today will be early in the afternoon from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Otherwise expect a humid day with sun and clouds. There will be a strong breeze in the afternoon from the south at 20-30 mph.

A high risk for rip currents are expected for Atlantic facing beaches and a small craft advisory is in effect for boaters.

Friday: Cloudy start & less humid for Juneteenth

Overcast skies are expected on Friday morning with wake up temperatures in the 70s. However, there is less humidity so it will feel more pleasant. Sunshine returns in the afternoon with highs in the mid 80s. Winds are west at 10-20 mph.

The Weekend: Sunny Saturday, increasing clouds on Fathers Day

Father's Day weekend looks warm, sunny, and dry. Saturday is the pick with plenty of sunshine. Sunday will start off with plenty of sun but a few clouds are expected in the afternoon and rain will arrive Sunday night .
