Dry conditions are spreading across the tri-state region, raising concerns about water levels and plant health.

The latest drought monitor shows much of the region is now under some level of drought.

Central and southern New Jersey are seeing severe drought conditions, while parts of the Catskills and northern Connecticut are considered abnormally dry.

Across much of the region, moderate drought conditions are developing.

These conditions are already starting to impact crops and plants.

Officials say rivers, streams and reservoirs are running at lower levels than normal.

Residents are being urged to conserve water as the situation could worsen.

Temperatures are expected to remain near normal in the coming days, though a warming trend is expected, especially near the Catskills.

At the same time, little rainfall is expected between June 9 and June 13.

Forecasters say the continued lack of rain could lead to even drier conditions across the entire region.
