A pair of West Haven moms and three female high school students are getting worse than detention tonight.
Five people, including three juveniles, were arrested Wednesday after several fights broke out at West Haven High School, police say.
"There was like a bunch of police at the front of the school," student Mohamed Alvazenny says. "It was pretty insane."
As fists were flying, authorities say two parents of the girls involved showed up at the school and tried to join in on the fights.
Police say there were even eggs thrown during the brawl.
"Parents showing up at the school, banging on doors or whatever happened," parent Jessica Zukowski says. "C'mon, you're an adult!"
According to police, the adults' and teens' behavior was so "violent and tumultuous,' a shelter-in-place was implemented at the school.
Thirty-six-year-old Stephanie Hernandez, of West Haven, 35-year-old Raynaer Bamberg, of West Haven and three female students were arrested for breach of peace.
Sgt. Scott Allard, of the West Haven Police Department, squashed rumors that weapons were involved.
"There have been several inquiries brought to my attention about there being a gun and knife involved with this incident," Sgt. Allard wrote. "Let me be clear: there were no weapons involved during this altercation other than fighting."
No injuries were reported.
"Please... teach your children right," Zukowski says. "There's no reason to fight, there are other ways to go about things."
