Gunman on the run after Fordham shooting

Police are searching for the gunman who they say is responsible for a shooting in Fordham.

Authorities say a 35-year-old man was shot just after 9 p.m. Friday in front of 298 East 198th St.

The incident started as an argument between and quickly turned violent.

Police say the shooter pulled a gun and fired at the victim, striking him in the chest.

EMS rushed the 35-year-old to NYC Health Hospitals/North Central Bronx Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he is expected to recover.

The shooter took off running, traveling southbound on Briggs Avenue, according to police.

He was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, red sneakers and a blue hat.
