Two arrests have been made in connection with a shooting that left a 32-year-old victim in critical condition earlier this spring in Trenton.
Thomas Rogers, 32, and Kyheam Henigan, 35, have both been taken into custody following a multi-agency investigation into the March 21 incident, police said.
The investigation began around 9:52 p.m. on March 21, after a ShotSpotter notification alerted officers to seven rounds fired in the vicinity of 191 Oakland St. While patrol units were searching the area for suspects and victims, they were notified that a 32-year-old male had arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.
Medical staff listed the victim in critical but stable condition at the time.
Detectives eventually identified Rogers and Henigan as the primary suspects. Thomas Rogers was apprehended locally without incident. Kyheam Henigan was tracked to Georgia, where he was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshal Service.
Both men are currently pending their first appearance in Superior Court.
The Trenton Police Department’s Major Crimes Section continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the gunfire. Officials have not yet released a motive for the shooting.
