Authorities are investigating the shooting of an adult man on East Main Street, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
The shooting happened Thursday afternoon on East Main Street between South and Center streets, officials said. That area is near the Freehold Public Library.
Members of the prosecutor’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Freehold Borough Police Department are investigating.
Authorities said the shooting is believed to have been an isolated incident and that there is no known further danger to the community.
