A flag raising ceremony aboard the Battleship New Jersey in Camden marked the start of Red Cross Month on Sunday.
Organizers said the ship will be lit red throughout March and will fly the Red Cross flag to honor those who support the organization’s humanitarian mission.
The Red Cross Month celebration has been an annual tradition since 1943, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued the first proclamation.
