News 12 checked in at some spots along the Jersey Shore to see how people are holding up following the recent blizzard.

From Point Pleasant Beach to Bayhead and shore points in between, one can still find plows clearing stubborn slush and snow from roads on Tuesday.

In Point Pleasant Beach, the blizzard's heavy winds pulled down a large tree and a traffic light along Arnold Avenue at Chicago Avenue, as neighbors were still clearing snow piled high at the end of driveways.

Some of those neighbors seemed bothered that the borough had started handing out $380 fines to those who hadn't yet shoveled sidewalks. But others are fully in favor, including Sandra Kuhlwein, who is a year-round resident.

“I 100% agree with it because there are no buses here. So kids that have to walk to school shouldn’t have to walk in the street. I know that there’s a lot of rental homes here, ya know what, you’re making a lot of money renting your house out. Hire somebody for the winter," said Kuhlwein.

Others were out shoveling the snow left behind by passing plows.

"This is what I do for exercise. This is not my property, this is hers. I saw her out here, so I walked around and sees who needs shoveling. And I do it for free," said Richard Scutt.

Meanwhile, in places like Belmar, Spring Lake and Sea Girt, the storm-fencing dug into place after the summer season seemed to be doing its job.

In spite of those high winds from the blizzard, sand was kept to the beach and off of the snow-covered boardwalk and Ocean Avenue.
