Since the middle of the month, temperatures in New Jersey for the most part have been running well above normal.

With temperatures in the 80s this past weekend, many people are finding it hard to get into the fall spirit.

At Matt’s Farm Market on Route 71 in Wall Township, summer meets fall. Bins of corn sit next to apples, pumpkins next to tomatoes, all while temperatures once again approach 80 degrees.

“Are you ready to surrender summer into fall? Yes, I am ready,” said Danielle Dratch, of Point Pleasant Beach.

Matt’s Farm Market manager Cortland Cummings welcomes the endless summer because it brings out more shoppers even if they’re also hanging on to summer.

“It definitely benefits. People like the weather so when they say it's warm you see more business out here. When it starts getting cold and rainy and stuff you see less customers coming in,” said Cummings.

At the Belmar beach, Dani Anderson and her family arrived from Chicago, where there's no chilly Lake Michigan breeze.

“I am all about the local summer. I lived here for five years and it's one of my favorite things,” said Anderson.

“When we were at home, we were thinking about pumpkins but once we rolled into Belmar, no, we're not thinking about the pumpkins at all,” said Sherry Ford, visiting Belmar from Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Beckman’s on the Beach Graphics stays open year-round, and while the owner prefers summer, he says even on warm days like this it can still be a struggle in the post season.

“I've been doing this for 20 years. Memorial Day, they turn a switch on. Labor Day, they turn it off. No matter how much we try and overthink everything else all that matters is the weather,” said owner Jerome Beckman.
