A woman was fatally shot in her Newark apartment Saturday morning, and her ex-boyfriend is now facing murder charges.

Kasem McDonald, 42, is accused of shooting Shaneequah William on Astor Street, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.

McDonald turned himself in to police later that night and is facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
