Portions of Monmouth County remain without power following Thursday’s severe weather.

JCP&L is reporting around 5,700 customers without power as of 10 p.m.

Utility crews have been working along Route 79 near Newman Springs Road all day Friday to replace power lines and broken poles.

Around 100,000 customers lost power at the height of the storm. Shop owners tell News 12 that they came back to work on Friday, hoping that they would be able to get to work without too many financial hardships.

“We lose our seafood, we lose our chicken, our sauces – pretty much everything,” says Anthony Martinez, of Red Tomato.

JCP&L says the crews will work through the weekend to finish making the repairs.
