This year’s Valentine’s Day is in an era of inflation and record-high prices. Those who can keep it under $200 can call it a win.

Those looking to save on Valentine’s Day dinner might be able to find a deal with a fixed-price or special menu at a place like Tequila Bistro in Elizabeth. They are working on new combinations of Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine.

“We’re a team. I’ve got good people who work in the kitchen going with me for over 20 years…We do the kind of combinations the people love,” says owner and head chef Victor Vinanzaca.

They are also setting the mood for Valentine’s Day at nearby Valenca Restaurant – not just with decorations, but some food options for sharing.

Some fixed-price menus go for $40 at some restaurants around the state. But prices can climb to well over $100 per person.
