Toll changes and increases come with every new year and 2025 will have many for commuters, especially those head to New York City for work.

But just how much?

News 12's Amanda Eustice took a trip, starting in Edison, and commuted to the Empire State Building.

Prior to the 2025, the entire commute was $33.54. Turnpike tolls round trip amounted to $18.16 and the Lincoln Tunnel toll was $15.38. But come 2025 and that same commute will cost motorists $40.54.

Commuters who enter Manhattan below 60th Street, including through the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels, will receive a crossing credit during peak hours. So instead of paying the $9 for the congestion tax, commuters will pay $6 after a $3 credit to their account.

This is because they are already entering the congestion zone by tunnel or bridge.

So in the new year it will cost New Jersey commuters $16.06 to go through the Lincoln Tunnel, $18.48 for round trip Turnpike tolls, and a $6 congestion pricing fee just to get to and from Manhattan, and that's without gas or parking fees.
