A Monmouth County grand jury has indicted two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a Neptune Township man in May.

Kedrick Chatmon, 37, of Keansburg, and Lamare R. Walker, 45, of Barnegat, were indicted on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder in the death of 39-year-old Marques Mills. Chatmon was also charged with weapons offenses.

On May 14, Neptune Township police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Hillview Drive and Edgemere Road. Officers found Mills inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at a hospital.

A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Neptune Township police led to the identification of Chatmon and Walker as suspects. Both were arrested on Nov. 21.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact police at (800) 533-7443.
