The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze opens tonight for its 20th anniversary.

The fall favorite features 8,000 pumpkins artistically carved and lit up in spectacular displays, among them a moving windmill and the headless horseman.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze, located in historic Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton on Hudson, has had more than 2 million visitors in the last two decades.

Organizers say it began with an idea for a family-friendly attraction to tie in with the popularity of Halloween events in what's called Sleepy Hollow Country. It's grown from there.

Pumpkins, some foam and some real, are carved by a team of artists to create the walk-through attraction. The setup begins in mid to late summer.

New this year is the Gourd and Goblet Tavern located in the historic Ferry House about halfway through the attraction. Visitors can grab a snack and cocktail before continuing along the trail.

The blaze runs through mid-November. For tickets and more information, click here.
