Two adults and their children were confronted by an armed, masked man who entered through their garage and tried to rob them in the middle of the day in Norwood, according to Bergen County prosecutors.

On Saturday at 12:20 p.m., authorities say 40-year-old Jisun Park, of Carrollton, Texas, pointed a handgun at the family inside their house on Impatiens Way, announced a robbery and threatened them.

According to prosecutors, the family began screaming and managed to scare Park off, prompting him to flee to a nearby wooded area. Multiple law enforcement agencies from nearby towns responded to the incident and assisted the Norwood Police Department. Officers found Park in the wooded area and he was arrested.

An investigation included the recovery of items believed to be used by Park during the armed home invasion, authorities say. Officers found a pellet gun on him, though it was made to made to look like a handgun.

Park was charged with first-degree armed robbery, second-degree armed burglary, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, third-degree possession of a weapon and fourth-degree aggravated assault. He is being held at Bergen County Jail for a first court appearance in Hackensack.
