Seven people onboard an adult day care center bus were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a crash in East Orange.

Police say the crash happened just before 1 p.m. on the 100 block of Evergreen Place. They say the Birchwood Adult Day Care Center bus experienced brake failure while making a turn, and crashed into a parked car and a tree.

Seven passengers on the bus were taken to Rutgers University Hospital to be treated for various injuries – including a possible leg fracture.

The driver of the bus and a person inside the parked car were not seriously injured, according to the police.
