The company says it hopes to have everyone restored by Saturday, the majority sooner.

Thousands of utility customers remain without power following powerful storms that tore through New Jersey Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.
More than 100,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers lost power at the height of the storm. More than 14,000 remained without power as of 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Northern New Jersey took the brunt of the damage. Utility crews were spotted out in Parsippany Thursday morning working on three snapped utility poles that had their wires torn down. Trees fell onto wires in Harding Township and Morristown.
“Our service area up here in Northern New Jersey...mountain terrain, heavily forested, most of the most densely forested areas of New Jersey. We’ve got over 1,000 line workers beyond our JCP&L crews… out-of-state crews that are coming in to help, they are joining the restoration efforts,” says JCP&L spokesman Chris Hoenig. “But when you have dozens, hundreds of damaged locations, each one takes several hours to make the repairs it just adds up to more than a day’s worth of restoration efforts.”
Hoenig says power restoration efforts are expected to last into Saturday.
