Police say a man is facing charges for harassing a pro-Palestinian protester in Teaneck.

Ebrahim Yehounatan, 71, faces harassment, bias intimidation and weapons charges.

Police say the incident took place on April 14 when the victim was participating in a vehicle procession in support of the Palestinian people on Teaneck Road. They say that Yehounatan brandished a knife and pointed it in the victim’s direction.

A passenger in Yehounatan’s vehicle is accused of yelling racial epitaphs at members of the procession and spitting in the victim’s direction. But police say this person is not facing any charges.

The Flushing, New York resident was arrested on May 3 in Lakewood and is being held at the Bergen County Jail.
