Newark braces for more clashes at Delaney Hall detention center 

Alex Zdan, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in New Jersey and a former News 12 reporter, announced Monday he is ending his campaign.

In a statement, Zdan said he believes it is best to avoid a long contentious and expensive Senate primary. However, he says he plans to stay involved in state politics.

On Sunday, New Jersey first lady Tammy Murphy ended her campaign for the Senate race.
