Irving School in Highland Park is closed Friday due to a gastrointestinal outbreak, superintendent Kristina Susca said in a message on the school’s website.

“I regret to inform you that Irving is currently experiencing a gastrointestinal outbreak,” the post says.

The closure only applies to Irving. All other buildings remain open.

Susca says in accordance with the advice of the Board of Health, the school’s before and aftercare programs have been canceled.

According to Susca, there will be a thorough deep cleaning of the entire building while the elementary school is closed.
