State police: Man stabbed during physical altercation in Upper Deerfield Township

Police say Derrick Cottman, of Millville, was stabbed with an unknown weapon.

A man from Millville was stabbed Sunday during a physical altercation in Upper Deerfield Township, according to state police.

Officials say Derrick Cottman, 35, was stabbed on Deerfield Drive by 28-year-old Stanton Blackwell, of Pennsylvania, after a physical altercation that also involved a 24-year-old woman from Upper Deerfield. They say Cottman was stabbed with an unknown weapon.

Both Cottman and Blackwell are facing charges.

Blackwell was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with strangulation and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was taken to Cumberland County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.

Cottman was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was released pending a future court date.
