An 80-year-old man was killed by a car in Newark on New Year’s Eve.
Officials say Eugene Thacker was struck by a car at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. He was transported to University Hospital where he later died.
The driver stayed on the scene and was not injured, according to officials. No arrests have been made.
