Thanksgiving is just days away and for many Americans that means packing a bag and heading to the airport. AAA calls this one of the busiest travel times of the year.
In the coming days, AAA predicts this to be an especially busy year for Thanksgiving air travel. Based on the travel forecast, we could be looking at the largest number of air travelers since 2005. An estimated 4.7 million people are using the airports for their vacations or family visits. There is a 6.6% increase in air travel from 2022.

It's still on the earlier side for this holiday travel period, and there hasn't been a significant impact causing delays or cancellations so far. Newark Liberty International Airport has seen only one cancellation out of Newark in the last 24 hours.
The busiest and most expensive days for flying are typically Tuesday, Wednesday and next Sunday for return travel.
