Highway construction, sports events expected to bring traffic to NJ on first rain-free weekend

New Jersey will see its first rain-free weekend in nearly two months, which means many will be out and about to take in the better weather.
But those who plan on driving around New Jersey this weekend should bring plenty of patience. Road work will shut down some state highways through the weekend. This comes along with several events around the state which will bring in a lot of traffic.
Construction is expected on parts of the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. The Western Spur of the Turnpike will be closed during the overnight hours this weekend.
The lower level of the George Washington Bridge will be closed Saturday morning into Sunday.
Additionally, a Rutgers football game on Saturday afternoon at SHI Stadium in Piscataway is expected to bring traffic to The Turnpike at interchange 9, Routes 1, 18 and Interstate 287.
Several events out at the Meadowlands will also cause some traffic issues.
