State police continued the search Monday for a 31-year-old man who went missing Sunday in the water at Seaside Park.

Most of the recent drownings happened after guards left for the day. Rough surf at the beaches contributed to the drownings. Red flags lined the beach Monday at Seaside Park warning beach goers of the dangerous rip currents. Rough surf will continue to impact beaches until at least Tuesday.

After Labor Day, most beaches won't be staffed with lifeguards. And some beaches may have skeleton crews. Beachgoers are warned not to get in the water without a lifeguard on duty.
