The identity of the mysterious Irish girl who wrote a message in a bottle found off the Jersey Shore has been revealed.

According to The Wildwood Sun by the Sea Magazine, Aoife Byrne from Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, wrote her message in 2019, but it only recently appeared along the shore in Wildwood.

Frank Bolger found the note while vacationing in North Wildwood and spending time cleaning up the beach with his wife and granddaughter.

"Greetings from Ireland," the note says. "I have thrown this bottle into the sea for someone to find another day."

The Wildwood Sun by the Sea Magazine says Byrne quickly contacted Bolger’s email that was noted in the news. They say the Bolger family was so happy to talk to Byrne and her father and to hear the sheer joy in their voices.

After the phone conversation, the Bolger family was sent a photo and a note that Byrne wrote to prove it is her handwriting in the letter.
