Did you know that the cartoon character Heathcliff is a Jersey cat?

Created by Bergen County cartoonist George Gately and now brought to life every day by his nephew and lifelong New Jersey resident Peter Gallagher, the Heathcliff character is about to turn 50 years old.

News 12's Brian Donohue interviewed Gallagher about Heathcliff's Jersey roots, his relationship to the character Garfield (Heathcliff came first), and where he gets the inspiration for six comic strips a week.
