Tree falls onto Passaic County resident’s house after storm

A tree damaged by storm winds on Friday fell onto the house of a Passaic County woman a day later.
Sophie Boland says she was celebrating her 29th birthday at her Hawthorne home on Saturday when the tree suddenly crashed through her window.
Boland says it was a result of the storm on Friday.
"The rain was pretty bad. You could just hear it from outside,” she said. "There was no indication that the tree was going to fall."
"It sounded like fireworks or gunshots or something,” said Boland’s sister Kelly.
Hawthorne police, the fire department and tree removal experts traveled to the home to help. The road leading to the home was also closed off for several hours.
No one was hurt during the incident, according to authorities.
