Twenty small businesses in Edison received grants from Optimum and the Edison Chamber of Commerce.
Each business will get $5,000.
The business owners were all honored on Thursday at the Edison Crowne Plaza Hotel on Route 27.
The owners say that they are grateful for the grants to help them succeed.
"I come from Manhattan, and I owned my business in Manhattan for 40 years. Never in the whole time that I ever was there did anybody look to help us,” says Michael Tempera, owner of Ferraro 1061. “The township is amazing, Optimum is amazing. It's something where it gives us a chance to make the area and the business better."
Optimum is the parent company of News 12.
