Several people were injured after a house exploded in Phillipsburg Saturday afternoon.
The two-family duplex at 94 Filmore St. exploded at 5:15 p.m., shaking neighboring homes and causing a power outage in the community.
Police say they are preparing to tear down the home in an effort to find the cause of the explosion.
After the incident, neighbors found a man in the street with severe burns to his arms and legs. He was apparently thrown from the second floor window. Another man suffered minor injuries.
The burn victim said that he lit a cigarette just before the explosion.
Police and the Warren County Prosecutor's Office are expected to be on the scene through the night to find what caused the blast.
