Officials found a 28-year-old woman dead early Saturday morning outside the Highlands at Morris Plains Apartment Complex in Morris Plains.
The Morris Plains mayor tells News 12 the preliminary details suggest the incident was a murder-suicide.
The body of a 32-year-old man was found dead nearby, over the border in Morris Township.
Neighbors say the man ran from the buildings, exchanging gunfire with police before turning the gun on himself.
The identities of the deceased have not been released at this time.
